One of the challenges i face on a daily basis is to get work ready along with hundreds of other daily chores in the morning. So i thought of sharing the easy guide for a daily work wear makeup.
- First of all Splash your face with water. Then cleanse your face with a FaceWash or a Cleanser. Milk and Oatmeal are the natural cleansers which i use alternatively to keep my skin clean and smooth.
- Second step is to use Toner. Toners help to close the open pores which otherwise can accumulate impurities and damage your skin. Apply a small amount of toner on the cotton pad or cotton ball and dab on the skin.
- Moisturize your skin with a good moisturizer. It helps to keep your skin healthy. For dry skin like mine it reduces the chances of wrinkles.Look for a good moisturizer that suits your skin type.
- Summer screams for Sunscreen, Look for a sunscreen with at least SPF 30. I look for this ingredient titanium dioxide in my sunscreen. It protects your skin from UVA and UVB radiation and is considered no risk of skin sensitivity.
- Apply a small dot of primer as a base for your makeup. I skip this step as i use good amount of moisturizer for a daily wear makeup. But for a party wear or full on makeup, i spray my face with MAC Prep + Prime Fix mist.
- Foundation/ BB Cream. Apply a layer of foundation that matches your skin tone. Here in US, people use foundation to even out the skin tone. However, like typical Desi, i prefer to use a foundation which is one shade lighter than my skin tone. Personally i prefer using BB cream (Bobbie Brown BB cream) over foundation for a daily wear makeup. Alternatively you can use powder foundation to fasten the process. (I use Bare Mineral Powder Foundation as a quick alternative).
- Cover dark spots with Concealer. I prefer a shade lighter than my foundation shade to cover the dark circles under eyes. Since i don't have too much of a dark circle, i tend to skip this on a daily routine. Use it when you need full coverage.
- Apply a thin layer of Compact powder. I use Channel powder compact to complete the foundation look.
- Comb your eyebrows with browbrush. Fill in the eyebrows with eyebrow pencil should you need it.
- I don't have time for eyeshadow and i skip this step.
- Apply Eyeliner. I don't like the dramatic look for eyes. So sometime i tend to skip this step or apply a thin layer on the top of the lashes.
- Finish off the eye make up with mascara. I am a big big fan of Mascara and cant think of stepping out without one. My all time favorite is Bobbie Brown Mascara.
- Any make-up look is incomplete without this step - Lipsticks. Use lip liner to outline your lips and then apply the liner all over your lips. Then i use bobbie brown / MAC liquid lipsticks. Choose the shade which goes with your outfit and your skin tone.
- Use setting powder or/and a setting spray to finish your daily Makeup look.
- When you have little extra time in morning, you can apply blush, contour and highlighter before step #14. But i skip these steps to keep my daily work wear makeup look minimal.
